Hall of Hail | Spec Title Sequence
Hail of Hail is a fully CG title sequence for a fictional TV series, depicting a throne room as it slowly falls into darkness and freezes over. With no characters or dialogue, Hall of Hail relies on composition, color, and lighting to establish the mood and the overall narrative. Inspired by the title sequence for Shogun by FX and the short film Themes and Variations by Ziye Liu, the goal of this project was to explore environmental storytelling while honing my skills in texturing and FX.
Hall of Hail took roughly 9 months to complete from the start of preproduction and ideation to final compositing. Main programs used were Maya, Substance Painter, Houdini, Nuke, and Autodesk Sketchbook.
